Work/Life Planning, Self-Assessment and Career Exploration

The first session:

I would like to meet you in person for the first session, so that we have an opportunity to connect on a personal level as you share how you feel you need to be supported. The first session is also an opportunity for us to understand how we can best work together during the counselling experience, and I will give you a general idea of how we will proceed.

I find that for the first session 1 1/2 hours is usually appropriate.

Subsequent sessions:

Depending on the nature of our work together, we may need to meet in person to discuss results of exercises you may be asked to complete at home. These sessions can be 1 to 2 hours in length depending on how quickly you want or need to progress towards your goals. After that, if further sessions are needed, they can take place over the phone if it is more convenient for you.    


Job Search Coaching:

If you need support with job search-related questions only, or you want to continue with job search support after having completed counselling sessions related to career exploration or work/life planning, in addition to in person or telephone appointments, you have the option of engaging in coaching via email.

This is a cost-effective way of receiving support once you are actively looking for work and have a number of ‘quick questions’ like: “Should I include my experience at ABC Company on my résumé, even though that took place 15 years ago"? or “I’m interested in working for ABC Company, but they are not advertising any positions right now. How do I approach this company about possible future opportunities?”

My Availability:

I am available for in-person appointments on Saturdays or some evenings for telephone appointments.
